How to choose CAD design software

There are basically two types of CAD design software available: programs for amateurs and those for professionals. The line is, of course, not distinct, but you can generally tell rather quickly which is designed for whom.
So, the first thing you need to do is decide why you want it and what you intend to accomplish. For example: you may want to design a new house or remodel an existing one. This will lead you to discover that price has a lot to do with the targeted market.
You can spend thousands of dollars, or you can spend $29.99. This tells you everything right away, yet there are actually some excellent homeowner type programs that could be used by a contactor/builder. It is surprising what value you can get at times.
There are so many industries that use CAD: shoes, clothing. electrical, architecture, boats, furniture and machine design, just for starters. Once you get your eyes opened to the world of CAD you see it everywhere.
